Cop hurt as school search turns violent
Police conducting a random search at Thuso-Thebe High School in Tlakgameng were attacked by pupils upset that their cellphones and weapons were confiscated.
|||Rustenburg - A police officer was injured when learners went into a rampage damaging property in Tlakgameng near Ganyesa on Thursday, North West police said.
Colonel Sabata Mokgwabone said the police went to Thuso-Thebe High School in Tlakgameng to conducted a random search and confiscated cellphones as well as dangerous weapons from the learners.
“The latter then attacked the police. A police official was injured during the incident. POP [Public Order Police] has been summoned to manage the situation,” he said.
