Alleged iphone theft: Seun Egbegbe sent to Kirikiri Prison

Nollywood producer and marketer, Seun Egbegbe, has been remanded in Kirikiri Prison custody by a Lagos magistrate court sitting in Ikeja for allegedly stealing nine pieces of i-phone.

The Nation reports that Egbegbe, who is said to be a former boyfriend to actress, Toyin Aimakhu, was arraigned before Magistrate Aje Afunwa on a one-count charge of stealing.
The charge sheet against the accused read: “That you Oluwaseun Olasunkami ‘m’ on 22nd November 2016 at about 0900hrs at 9, Simbiat Abiola Way, Ikeja, in the Ikeja magisterial district did steal 9 i-phone 6s valued N2,400,000 property of one Kaaltex Innovation Consutancy, thereby violating section 278 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.”
The movie produce however pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against him by the police prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Imhonwa.

Egbegbe was granted the bail in the sum of N1 million and two sureties in like sum by the presiding Magistrate, Aje Afunwa.
The magistrate also ordered that he be remanded in Kirikiri prison pending when he would perfect his bail conditions.
She adjourned the matter to February 8, 2017 for hearing.
Meanwhile, eyewitness who were at the court premises, claimed that some thugs threatened to beat up any journalist who dares to take a photo when he emerged from the court room.
While journalists waited to take Egbegbe’s picture, his family members in collusion with prison warders, sneaked him out of the court premises through the back door into a waiting prison vehicle.
The movie maker was reportedly smuggled out of the court premises to an unknown location to perfect his bail conditions.
Egbegbe was arrested on Tuesday, November 22, at the Computer village, Ikeja for allegedly stealing 9 iPhones.
According to reports, he attempted to escape from the shop with the phones, allegedly telling the salesgirl that he was coming back. He left, crossed the road and entered into a waiting cab.
The salesgirl, who claimed she was hypnotised, said she came back to her senses and raised an alarm. Some traders at the market chased and caught up with him and beat him up before finally handing him over to the police.
