Deputy involved in fatal shooting in Kentucky on paid leave
SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. — Authorities say a sheriff’s deputy who fatally shot a crowbar-wielding burglary suspect at a Kentucky church has been with the department since last year.
In a news release Monday, Kentucky State Police identified the Shelby County deputy as 24-year-old Corey Williams. Williams has been placed on routine leave during the investigation.
The release notes that Williams has worked for the sheriff’s office since June 2015 and is a graduate of the Department of Criminal Justice Training.
