Boko Haram: Nigerian troops set to invade Sambisa forest
The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, has said the Nigerian Army will invade Sambisa forest this week, Daily Post reports.
Buratai during the maiden bi-annual public lecture series of the Federal University Dutsinma, Katsina, titled: ‘Security Challenges in Nigeria: Case of Northern States’, said the troops will invade other locations, in order to get rid of all Boko Haram remnants.
He said: “What we see lately is rumblings of a dying group,” Buratai said.

“There has also been a rapid escalation of armed conflicts between herdsmen and rural communities and an unbelievable expansion of cattle rustling and invasion of ungoverned territories by armed criminal gangs as is the case in the North West and part of North Central.”
About two days ago, Buratai, had charged men of the Nigerian army to monster courage and be prepared for the worst as the Boko Haram sect must be destroyed this December.
"I am sending to you all, the troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE best wishes as the Yuletide period approaches, I commend you for your sacrifices, commitment, loyalty and courage in the service of our fatherland, he said.
