Defendant in ‘Cops’ murder-for-hire trial won’t testify
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — A Florida woman accused of trying to hire a hit man to kill her husband will not be testifying at her retrial.
Dalia Dippolito told Judge Glenn Kelley on Monday that she won’t take the stand this time to defend herself against a charge of attempted murder for hire. A police recording of her meeting with an officer posing as a hit man was featured on the television show “Cops.”
That defense didn’t work at her first trial, where she was convicted and sentenced to 20 years.
