Sudan’s president warns against anti-regime protests
KHARTOUM, Sudan — Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir is warning that anyone “wanting to topple the regime would have to confront the state” amid calls for a new round of civil disobedience against price increases and fuel subsidy cuts.
The official SUNA news agency reported that al-Bashir, speaking at a public rally Monday in Kasala in eastern Sudan, described those campaigning for a strike as “agents.”
