Maolud Nabiyy which is marking the birthday of Prophet Muhammad annually has been labeled a sinful act by Islamic scholar
- Muslims in some parts of the world are rejoicing today, Monday, December 12 because they are marking the birthday of the Messenger of Islam, Prophet Muhammad (peace of Allah be upon his noble soul)
- Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh, a renowned Muslim preacher in the middle east has urged those who love celebrating Maolud Nabiyy (Prophet's birthday) every year to desist from doing so as Allah frowns against them
The world famous Islamic scholar, Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh has spoken against rejoicing annually over the Messenger of Allah's birthday (peace be upon him). He said it was a superstitious action which was mischievously added to Islam.

“It is a bida (a sinful religious innovation) that crept into Islam after the first three centuries when the companions and successors of the companions lived,” He opined.

The leader of the Muslims in a mosque called Turki bin Abdullah located in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, stated that Muslims should be more concerned about heeding to the ways and life of the Messenger of Allah, while delivering the weekly Friday sermon.
He said people who celebrate the birthday of Allah’s messenger were evil and corrupt.
The Sheikh stated, while also adding a verse of the Glorious Qur'an to buttress his point saying, “the true love of the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) is manifested by following in his footsteps and supporting his Sunnah ... that is how the love for the Prophet (pbuh) is expressed,” adding that Allah says: “If you do love Allah, follow me: Allah will love you and forgive your sins.”
Furthermore, the Saudi Arabian born scholar added another verse from the Glorious Qur’an to corroborate his earlier stance. The verse reads:
“Say: If it be that your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your mates, or your kindred; the wealth that you have gained; the commerce in which you fear a decline; or the dwellings in which you delight, are dearer to you than Allah, or His messenger, or the striving in His cause, then wait until Allah brings about His decision, and Allah guides not the rebellious.”
As some Islamic faithfuls celebrate Maolud Nabiyy today, the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) has warned that the move to establish Christian courts in the country should be halted.
