Allowing Fans To Bring Guns Into Seahawks Games Seems Like A Horribly Stupid Idea
In the Washington state legislature, three Republicans have proposed a bill preventing companies or local governments from prohibiting concealed firearms in sports stadiums, such as that of the Seattle Seahawks or Mariners. If it passes, that means locales wherein tens of thousands of people (often drunk) in close proximity will be forced to allow licensed guns into an environment conducive to loud (often drunk) arguments that turn violent. The gun debate is at a rather strange place in America, wherein many people want desperately to control how firearms make their way into the American population, but some try not just to defend them, but expand their presence in society. It’s a strangely offensive strategy to take, for some to demand that guns be allowed in more and more places as others seek to erase even the hint of them.
