Militants in trouble as ex-militants vow to expose, deal with oil saboteurs; applaud Buhari

Ex-militants have declared their total support for President Muhammadu Buhari promising to expose oil saboteurs bombing pipelines in the Niger Delta region.
Daily Post reports that this was the resolution reached at a meeting held between the special adviser to President Buhari on Niger Delta and coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brig Gen, Paul Boroh (Rtd) and ex-agitators under the Niger Delta Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP).

At the meeting which took place in Benin, Edo state on Wednesday, January 11, the militants vow to support the federal government in the fight against pipeline vandalism.
They promised to expose anyone vandalising pipelines in their communities.
The meeting was attended by leaders in the Niger Delta region and they expressed support for the administration’s Agricultural Empowerment Programmes for beneficiaries.
Pastor Ruben Wilson who is one of the beneficiaries applauded the coordinator for his work.
Wilson said the Amnesty Programme was once a political tool but under Boroh’s watch it has transformed to a well-coordinated reintegration platform for repentant militants.

The programme recently trained and empowered about 200 ex-agitators on Enhanced Agriculture at the National Biotechnology Development Center, in Odi, Baylesa State, while some others have been empowered with starter packs, to start their own farms.
Meanwhile, Nigeria finally overtook Angola to reclaim the position as Africa’s top oil producer after the latter had held the position for seven months.
Angola had led with 1.7 million barrels produced per day which was above Nigeria’s 1.5 million barrels.
