Governor Fayose goes spiritual over successor as Ekiti election draws closer

- Governor Ayodele Fayose says he is not yet sure of where the next governor of Ekiti state will come from

- Fayose said this in reaction to demands by the people of Ikere-Ekiti that it should produce the next governor of the southwest state

Ekiti state governor Ayodele Fayose has revealed that he is waiting to hear from God on who to support for the next leader of the Southwest state.

According to Fayose, he has taken the matter to God in prayer and is waiting for an answer from the Almighty.

Fayose’s chief press secretary Idowu Adelusi wrote in a statement released on Thursday, January 12 that the governor said this on Wednesday, January 11 while flagging off the final phase of the dualisation of Ikere-Ekiti’s main road.

‎”With God all things are possible. I will advise you to ‎take the matter to the Lord in prayers since you are legitimately qualified like any other town in the state. As a leader of the party, I must create a level playing ground for all aspirants. It is God who puts people in positions of authority.

”I am currently waiting on God to give me the directive on who to support for the coming election. As for when I will come out with my choice of candidate, we still have over a year before the election and I hope that by the time we clock three years in office in October, the coast would have been clearer,” he said.

Fayose made this statement while reacting to the demand by the people of the town it should produce the next governor of the state.

Meanwhile, Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state has allegedly ordered the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to vacate its state command headquarters located along Afao Road with immediate effect or pay N27.5 million rent to government coffers within 5 days.
