Former president Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday, January 12, paid a condolence visit to the family of late Niger state governor Engr. Abdulkadir Kure, who died in Germany on Sunday, January 8.
He also visited His Royal Highness, Umar Farouq Bahago, the Emir of Minna.

Disclosing the news on his Facebook page, Jonathan described Late Kure as a distinguished public servant and highly principled politician who contributed to the development of Nigeria.

He said: "I thank God for making it possible for me to visit Minna this afternoon to condole with the family of the late ex- Governor of Niger state Engr. Abdulkadir Kure and His Royal Highness, Umar Farouq Bahago, the Emir of Minna.
"The late Kure will continue to live in the hearts many as a distinguished public servant and highly principled politician who contributed so much to the development of our dear nation.
"May the Almighty comfort the family he left behind, and grant him al-Jannah Firdaus."

Recall that Kure was flown abroad last week following a relapse of an undisclosed illness but died some days later.
The deceased was a two-term governor of the state from 1999 to 2007.
He was also the 12th governor of the state and the third civilian governor after Emir Awwal Ibrahim(1979-1983) and Dr. Musa Inuwa( 1992-1993).
