Reno Omokri insists Buhari's man must go after Obazee sack

- Reno Omokri, a former aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, has wondered why President Muhammadu Buhari has refused to sack Babachir Lawal after sacking Jim Obazee

- Obazee, was sacked by President Buhari following the resignation of Pastor Enoch Adeboye as the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Nigeria.

- Omokri criticized how quickly the president terminated Obazee’s appointment, while still awaiting result of investigation before firing Babachir Lawal

Following the recent sack of the executive secretary of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, Jim Obazee, Reno Omokri ,a former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, has wondered why President Muhammadu Buhari has refused to sack the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Babachir Lawal.

Obazee, was sacked by President Buhari following the resignation of Pastor Enoch Adeboye as the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Nigeria.

The former aide frowned at how quickly the president terminated Obazee’s appointment, while still awaiting result of investigation before firing Babachir, who was alleged to have diverted money meant to fight humanitarian crisis.

Omokri on Wednesday, January 11, took his Facebook page and said: “How come President Buhari can investigate and fire Obaze of the FRC very quickly yet he is still awaiting 'further investigation' before firing Babachir?

The way the President drags his foot when those around him are accused of corruption puts a question mark on his anti corruption crusade. What about the investigation of the Supreme Court Justice visiting Rotimi Amaechi, the grass cutting SGF and the budget padding civil servants? The same day it was revealed that Ghanaian President Akufo-Addo's speech was plagiarized is the same day he fired the man who wrote it.

In President Buhari's own case of stealing Obama's speech it took 2 weeks before he 'redeployed' (not sack) the director involved. The President's double standards is now so obvious.

To show the value Nigeria places on human life, we sacked Obazee for embarrassing government over the Adeboye resignation but sacked no one for Southern Kaduna killings. We acquitted the suspected murderers of the Christian evangelist, Bridget Agbahime, but are diligently prosecuting Joe Chinakwe, who named his dog after his hero, President Buhari.

We wait for public outcry before belatedly sending troops to help victims of foreign Fulani herdsmen but send out troops to catch and display alleged cattle rustlers on TV. What has happened to our humanity over the past 18 months. What have we used our hands to do to ourselves?

Omokri had earlier called for the sack of secretary to government of the federation.

The former aide in a tweet on Thursday, January 5, said that unless President Buhari effects the sacking of Babachir, his anti-corruption war is not genuine.
