Director Chris Columbus to receive SF Film Commission honor
Director Chris Columbus will be honored Thursday night, Feb. 9, with what the Friends of the San Francisco Film Commission hopes will be an annual award for excellence in entertainment.
Columbus, a Bay Area resident, got his break in Hollywood working as a screenwriter for Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment.
The nonprofit Friends was founded in 2012 by its first president, Jim McCullough, to attract film industry business to San Francisco.
