‘Arctic: Territory of Dialogue’ International Arctic Forum

The ‘Arctic: Territory of Dialogue’ International Arctic Forum provides one of the key platforms for discussing the problems and prospects of the Arctic region at the global level. The event is held with direct support from the Government of the Russian Federation, and is designed to bring the global community together in the interests of securing the effective development of the Arctic and improving the lives of Arctic residents. The Forum is set to take place in Arkhangelsk (Russia) from March 29–30, 2017.

The central theme of the Forum in 2017 will be ‘People and the Arctic’. The Forum will bring together international organizations, government bodies, and scientific and business communities from Russia and around the world, who will work together on developing international cooperation, consolidating efforts to ensure the sustainable development of the Arctic, and raising the standard of living of those in Arctic regions.

President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Rogozin will take part in the Forum. According to The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia also the President of Finland, the President of Iceland, the Prime-Minister of Sweden and the Vice-Premier of China are going to attend the Forum.

The Forum program offers over 40 events, including 32 themed sessions and discussions, 2 plenary sessions, and an extended Session of the State Commission for Arctic Development.
