BART recovering after rescue of woman under a train
A “major medical emergency” in Hayward about 9:40 a.m. caused southbound trains to turn back at the Bay Fair station and northbound trains to turn back at the South Hayward station, said Jim Allison, a spokesman for BART.
By about 10 a.m., the Fire Department rescued a woman that was stuck under a train at the Hayward Station, officials said, adding that the person was alive and had moderate to severe injuries.
AC Transit lines 99, 22 and 10 were available to service passengers as BART worked to address the medical emergency.
