2 years after: SEE how Buhari was scored in 10 areas by Nigerians
On May 29, 2015, President Muhammadu Buhari was sworn in as the president of Nigeria. Today, May 29, 2017, his presidency is two years old and Nigerians have their verdict about how he has done as a president in several areas.
NOI Polls conducted a poll among Nigerians on 10 key areas of governance and below are the percentages President Buhari got in each:
1. Security
Looking at how he has dealt with the Boko Haram menace, and the Niger Delta bombings among other security concerns, Nigerians scored him 47%.
2. Corruption
One of the platforms Buhari campaigned on was the anti-corruption war. The discovery of looted funds hidden in various places and the continued clampdown by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) gave the president a lot of points. he was scored 45%.

3. Agriculture and food security
The tomato scarcity of 2016 and the food price hike are some of the problems that might have made Nigerians score him 40%.
4. Power
As with most former presidents power has always been a source of concern to Nigerians and it is yet to improve. Nigerians scored the president and by extension his minister of power Babatunde Fashola only 28%.
5. Healthcare
Thousands of people were lost to meningitis and yet the vaccines are not readily available, Lassa fever, unpaid doctor and a poor medical care infrastructure got the president 27%.

6. Poverty alleviation
With a staggering percentage of Nigerians still living below poverty level. It is no surprise that President Buhari was scored 9% in poverty alleviation.
Other areas he was scored on are:
7. Infrastructure - 23%
8. Economy - 14%
9. Job creation - 13%
10. Education - 19%
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com earlier reported that the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD), Abuja, has released summary of its report titled Buharimeter Citizens’ Scorecard on the performance of President Buhari and the APC, on the three broad campaign promises: corruption, economy and security in the first two years in office.

According to the report, 57 per cent of the sampled population of 4,097 across 111 local governments in Nigeria approved of the president’s performance, the result varied across regions.
