UW instructor helps with $1.6 billion telescope

(AP) — A University of Wyoming associate professor is part of a team of scientists, engineers and project specialists planning and designing what eventually will become the most advanced and powerful optical telescope on Earth.

Michael Pierce is an associate professor in UW's Department of Physics and Astronomy.
