Factory orders fall 1% in May
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- Orders for goods produced in U.S. factories fell 1% in May, missing the forecast from MarketWatch-polled economists of a 0.5% drop, according to government data released Thursday. Orders for durable goods -- products meant to last at least three years -- fell 2.2%, compared with a prior estimate of a 1.8% drop. Meanwhile, orders for nondurable goods increased 0.2%.
