Ben Affleck Poses as Batman Alongside Henry Cavill as Superman Amid Split from Jennifer Garner
Can’t a superhero get a little privacy around here? Amid a very public split from wife of 10 years Jennifer Garner, Ben Affleck is trying to hide behind a mask — as Batman, that is.
The actor, who will play the Dark Knight in the upcoming film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (opposite Henry Cavill as Superman), strikes a pose on the cover of the new Entertainment Weekly with Cavill’s Man of Steel and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.

In the arresting photo, Affleck, 42, stares out from behind Batman’s trademark black molded mask, his suit revealing a bulked-up physique. Gadot, an Israeli model and actress, wears a short skirt and thigh-high boots, while Cavill, who first played Superman in 2013, flanks her on the right.
“Ben provides an interesting counterbalance to Henry’s Superman,” director Zack Snyder explained of his sequel to Man of Steel. “He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne.”

Earlier this week, sources confirmed to Us Weekly that the Argo star will attend Comic-Con in San Diego later this month, his first public appearance since he and Garner, 43, announced their decision to separate on June 30.
“After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce,” the pair wrote in a joint statement to Us. “We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask tot be respected during this difficult time.”
