I only Honour An Invitation, Senator Akpabio Reacts To EFCC Arrest
The immediate past governor of Akwa Ibom state and Senate minority leader, Godswill Akpabio was reportedly arrested by operatives of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on allegation of fraud running into billions of Naira.
According to report, he was said to have been arrested at 5pm on Friday, October 16 and was accompanied by a few aides and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Ricky Tarfa.
The former governor has, however, dismissed the report that he was arrested by EFCC. He took to Twitter to announce that he was only invited by the anti-graft agency and he honoured the invitation.
In his tweets, the Senate minority leader said that he had nothing to hide that he why he walked into the office of EFCC with any iota of fear.
