In 2024, Feminichi Fathima was first shown in international film festivals. It won several awards at the 2024 International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK). Following this positive reaction, actor and producer Dulquer Salman decided to use his Wayfarer Films to release the movie in Indian theatres. Feminichi Fathima therefore released in theatres in October 2025.

Feminichi (feminist) Fathima is the title character played by Shamla Hamza. Shamla portrays a lady in the movie whose life is centred on taking care of her husband, in-laws, and kids. Her own family and society control her thoughts, needs, and aspirations. But following a little but significant event, Fathima learns about and works toward freedom and independence. Shamla won the coveted Kerala State Film Awards for her portrayal of the role, which was subtle and flawless.
The producers of Feminichi Fathima were Faasil Muhammad, Sudheesh Skaria, and Thamar K.V. The latter also penned the movie's screenplay.
