Bollywood mourns Zarine Khan: Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor offer condolences

Zarine Khan, the veteran actress, author and interior designer, recognised for her grace and kindness, died at 81 following a struggle with age-related health problems. Bollywood icons Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma Kapoor, and Neetu Kapoor were among the attendees at veteran actor Sanjay Khan's home in Mumbai to honour the memory of his wife, Zarine Katrak Khan, after her demise. In a video captured by paparazzi, Kareena was observed arriving discreetly, wearing a modest beige salwar suit with her hair pulled back neatly, her expression showing subtle empathy. Karisma Kapoor also opted for a subtle look in a sharp white ensemble, whereas Neetu Kapoor was seen in a beige salwar kameez, draping a soft shawl.

Each of the three actresses opted for a simple style in both clothing and presence as they arrived at the home to offer their final tributes.

Inside, the Kapoor sisters and Neetu were observed comforting the Khan family members, such as Sanjay Khan, Zayed Khan, Sussanne Khan, Farah Khan Ali, and Simone Arora.

Zarine Khan, who started her career as a model in the 1960s before tying the knot with Sanjay Khan, was respected not only for her enduring beauty but also for her sophistication, artistry, and poise.

Zarine Khan, originally named Zarine Katrak, belonged to an esteemed Parsi lineage recognised for its strong connections to Mumbai's cultural, business, and charitable spheres and married into a Muslim family.

Regardless of this, she was cremated following Hindu customs.

Zarine Khan's daughter, Farah Khan Ali, has now come forward and talked about the cremation with Hindu rituals.

She took to her Instagram Story and shared a picture of Zarine Khan with a flower garland around her neck. Alongside the pic, she penned in the tribute, "My mother Zarine Khan was a very special woman. Her philosophy of life was to 'Forgive and Forget.'" She added, "She was kind-hearted, loved by all her friends and family and cared deeply for one and all. She was the bond that kept our family together. Born a Parsi, married as a Muslim and cremated according to Hindu rites. She epitomised Humanity and is someone whose legacy we hope to live."
