Palak Muchhal BREAKS silence after brother Palash and Smriti call off their wedding

The wedding of Indian cricket team vice-captain Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal has now been completely cancelled. The couple made it clear on their respective social media platforms that they are no longer considering postponing the wedding, but have decided to permanently end it. It appears their relationship did not end on a good note, as they have unfollowed each other on Instagram and removed most of their couple photos. Their engagement video has also been deleted, making it clear that there is a serious rift in the relationship. Meanwhile, Palash's sister, singer Palak Muchhal, has also clarified her position on the matter.

Palak Muchhal also responded to the matter. As soon as Smriti and Palash announced the cancellation of the wedding, Palak unfollowed Smriti on Instagram. Smriti also unfollowed Palak. Previously, the two had supported each other and were seen together on numerous occasions, but Palak's move now shows that she stands by her brother. Palak also deleted photos featuring Smriti, marking her first clear response to the issue.

Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal were scheduled to marry on November 23, 2025, but the wedding was postponed due to sudden health issues in both families. Now, the couple has officially announced that the wedding has been completely cancelled. Smriti wrote in her Instagram story that "the wedding is called off" and that she wants to put the matter to rest. She requested that her and Palash's family's privacy be respected during this difficult time. Smriti also stated that her sole focus now would be on playing cricket for India and winning more trophies.

 

On the other hand, Palash Muchhal also wrote in his story that he wants to step back from his personal life and move forward. He expressed his displeasure over the rumors and "false stories" circulating on social media, saying that this has been the most difficult period of his life. Palash also hinted that he may take legal action against those spreading false and defamatory information about him. Soon after their statements, they unfollowed each other on Instagram and deleted several photos taken together.

 

Why was the wedding canceled?

 

Many questions are being raised about the reasons for the marriage's breakdown. Initially, health concerns in both families were cited as the reason, but after the wedding was postponed, allegations of cheating against Palash went viral on social media. Alleged chats and screenshots surfaced, claiming Palash was flirting with another woman. Another woman also alleged that Palash was trying to attract her, even though he was already committed. Furthermore, a Reddit post claimed that Smriti's fellow athlete, Shreyanka Patil, caught Palash with his choreographer, Nandhika Dwivedi, just the night before the wedding. Although all these allegations are unconfirmed, these discussions definitely put a lot of mental pressure on both of them and perhaps this became the biggest reason for the breakdown of their marriage.
