Bintel Acquired by REEN to Accelerate Smart Waste Management Across the Nordics
REEN, Norway’s leading provider of digital solutions for the waste industry, has acquired Lund-based waste management startup Bintel. Together, they are forming the strongest Nordic platform for smart waste management, uniting REEN’s logistics and sensor technology with Bintel’s AI-powered analytics.
The combination establishes the strongest Nordic platform for smart waste management, with a shared mission to accelerate efficiency, sustainability, and digital innovation across the waste value chain.
The acquisition strengthens REEN’s footprint in Sweden, a key growth market, and brings together complementary technologies and customer portfolios.
“Joining forces with REEN is a defining step for both companies. Together, we can scale faster, serve customers better, and lead the transformation of how cities and companies manage resources.”
says Jennie Orton, CEO of Bintel
Bintel’s AI-powered platforms, Insight, Brain, and Go, will reportedly be integrated into REEN’s solutions. Together they will deliver increased value to municipalities, real estate owners, and commercial customers across the region.
“This acquisition marks an important milestone on our journey toward 300,000 connected assets. By combining Bintel’s innovative AI technology and strong Swedish customer base with REEN’s scale and experience, we can accelerate growth and contribute to a more circular and data-driven economy.”
said Nora Johanne Sørsdahl, CEO of REEN.
Bintel will as part of this be rebranded as REEN, serving as REEN’s Swedish hub.
