Newly appointed ambassador of Iran presents copies of his credentials to RA Deputy FM
ArmInfo. Newly appointed Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Khalil Shirgolami presented copies of his credentials to Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan.
According to the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, Kostanyan expressed confidence that the ambassador's activities will contribute to the further strengthening and deepening of relations between Armenia and Iran.
At the meeting, the parties emphasized the strategic nature of the existing dialogue between Armenia and Iran, the established atmosphere of mutual trust, and their mutual readiness to continue multifaceted cooperation, particularly in infrastructure projects. The parties also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues.
Shirgolami's appointment as Iranian Ambassador to Armenia was announced on October 30. Shirgolami previously served as Deputy Director for Research and Development at the Center for Political and International Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
