Armenia extends 2025 winter conscription deadlines to February 13, 2026
Initially, according to a Cabinet decision dated November 20, 2025, the winter conscription for rank-and- file military and alternative service was set from November 24, 2025, to January 31, 2026. Male citizens who turn 18 by December 31, 2024, and those whose deferment expires before the end of the year, inclusive, are subject to the call-up. The recruitment of citizens subject to compulsory or alternative military service will now take place from January 7 to January 31, 2026, inclusive. The demobilization process will last from January 8 to January 31, 2026, inclusive.
"A current analysis of the 2025 winter conscription campaign indicates that, due to the additional volume of medical examinations required for citizens subject to conscription, it will be impossible to complete the necessary examination of citizens and the process of determining their fitness for conscription by January 31, 2026 (in accordance with sub-paragraph 2 of paragraph 8 of the decision, the deadline for examinations and re-examinations is set for January 25). In this regard, to prevent cases of granting unjustified deferments to citizens subject to the 2025 winter conscription campaign, or postponing medical examination to the 2026 summer conscription campaign, the conscription period has been extended until February 13, 2026 inclusive," the document's rationale reads.
