According to the PM's office, the head of the Armenian Cabinet congratulated him on assuming the post of Ambassador and emphasized the consistent development of relations with Iran. The diplomat emphasized the close, centuries-old ties between the two peoples, which underpin the high level of mutual trust between Armenia and Iran. According to the Ambassador, Iran welcomes the Armenian Prime Minister's peace- oriented policy, contributing to the development and progress of the region. Khalil Shirgolami stressed that the concept of a developed Armenia is at the core of Iran's strategic policy, and they are guided by this principle.

In the context of unblocking regional transport routes and developing trade and economic ties, the parties emphasized the importance of steps aimed at establishing rail links between the two countries, which could become part of the establishing broader ties.
