Ter-Petrosyan points to split in Armenian opposition
ArmInfo.Armenia's first president, Levon Ter- Petrosyan, has stated that months-long negotiations to unite opposition parties have ended in a stalemate.
"It must be honestly admitted that despite months of negotiations, opposition parties have failed to reach an agreement. In this case, the only force capable of uniting the divided opposition is Samvel Karapetyan.
Ultimately, it must be understood that the unification of the opposition is not a political issue, but simply a matter of saving the nation. As a self-sufficient and accomplished person, Karapetyan is capable of solving this issue," Ter-Petrosyan's Facebook post reads.
Several experts have already criticized this post by Armenia's first president, accusing him of trying to play into the hands of Armenia's current Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
