Aram I holds talks with President of Cyprus
ArmInfo. Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia Aram I discussed issues related to the Armenian community in Cyprus, Lebanon, Syria, and the Middle East in general with Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides.
According to the press service of the Catholicosate of Cilicia, during the meeting, which lasted approximately one hour, the President of Cyprus shared his views and concerns on these issues with His Holiness the Patriarch. He then expressed deep gratitude to the Armenian community in Cyprus and emphasized the government's continued support and assistance, particularly in the field of education. In this context, the restoration project of Makara Monastery, located in the Turkish-occupied part of Cyprus, received particular attention. His Holiness, in turn, emphasized Cyprus's unique role in the region, given its diplomatic relations with countries in the region, as well as its upcoming presidency of the European Union from January 1, 2026.
