The TED Interview podcast offers chance to go deeper

TED has become a cultural phenomenon through its mission of sharing big ideas. It's posted TED Talks online for free since 2006, featuring speakers from almost every discipline. The videos are viewed more than 3.4 billion times a year. TED just launched a new podcast featuring in-depth interviews with past speakers. Chris Anderson, who's the head of the non-profit and host of The TED Interview, joins "CBS This Morning" to discuss why they chose to create a podcast format.

Ex-USA Gymnastics CEO Steve Penny "tried to silence everyone" in Nassar abuse case, former athlete says

Former USA Gymnastics President Steve Penny says he didn't know he'd been indicted in connection with Larry Nassar's sexual abuse case. Penny was arrested Wednesday in Tennessee, accused of hiding or destroying documents at the Karolyi Ranch in Texas. Jessica Howard, a former Team USA gymnast and board member who says she was abused by Nassar, joins "CBS This Morning" to discuss the charges against Penny.

A number of Democratic senators are demanding an explanation from the EPA about why it put a leading children's health expert on paid leave without warning. Feds subpoena Catholic dioceses in Pa., N.Y. amid priest abuse scandal

For the first time, the Justice Department is leading a statewide investigation into allegations of abuse by Catholic priests. U.S. attorneys have subpoenaed at least seven of Pennsylvania's eight Catholic dioceses. Sources tell CBS News the diocese of Buffalo, New York, is also a target. Nikki Battiste reports.

Turkey says it hasn't shared any audio of alleged Khashoggi murder

Turkey's top diplomat confirms his government has not given the U.S. any recordings of the alleged murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo had already denied hearing tapes or seeing transcripts. President Trump moved closer to acknowledging the Saudis may have played a role. Weijia Jiang reports.

At a rally in Missoula, Montana, the president accused Democrats – without evidence – of supporting a caravan of about 3,000 migrants heading for the U.S. border.
