Coronavirus testing kits rushed to ship quarantined in California

California health officials said 35 people aboard the Grand Princess Cruise ship have exhibited flu-like symptoms after the ship was quarantined 70 miles off the coast of San Francisco on Thursday. The California National Guard rushed to deliver 300 coronavirus testing kits to the ship amid a state of emergency over California’s first coronavirus-linked death - an elderly man who had been a passenger on the same ship just weeks ago. Authorities mix-up Florida teens’ identities after car crash deaths

The families of two teenagers killed in a car crash are suing Florida authorities after they say the tragedy was compounded by incompetence. Samara Cooks and Deleigha Gibson were apparently misidentified after the crash near Pensacola in July. How coronavirus price-gouging is hurting consumers

As fears over the coronavirus grow, people are frantically buying up supplies and leaving store shelves empty. Prices are also sky-rocketing online as demand grows, such as two large bottles of Purell hand sanitizer on sale for nearly $300 on Amazon. The same size normally sells for about $9 a bottle. An Amazon spokesperson says the company does not allow price gouging and it has "recently blocked or removed tens of thousands of offers." Anna Werner reports from a pharmacy in Manhattan on how coronavirus price gouging is affecting consumers.

Alabama prison inmate Nathaniel Woods was executed on Thursday despite pleas to save his life. Woods was present when three police officers were killed in Birmingham in 2004. The man who pulled the trigger, Kerry Spencer, is still awaiting execution on death row. Relatives of the three slain officers watched Woods die. Woods did not offer any last words.

Lori Vallow to face Idaho judge on Friday

Lori Vallow, the mother of two missing children who have not been seen since September 2019, will face a judge in Idaho on Friday after being extradited to her home state from Hawaii. New video shows Vallow in handcuffs during a layover in Los Angeles. Jonathan Vigliotti reports on the case from Yellowstone National Park, which the FBI says is now an area of interest in searching for 7-year-old JJ and 17-year-old Tylee.
