Colorado authorities investigating mass shooting at supermarket

AstraZeneca may have "included outdated information" in COVID-19 vaccine trial report

AstraZeneca may have used "outdated information" when it released data from a late-stage trial of its COVID-19 vaccine early Monday, federal officials say. The Data and Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) said late in the day it "was concerned" about the information the British drugmaker made public about the large-scale U.S. trial of the vaccine it developed along with Oxford University. Israelis defend missile strike of U.N. school

After an Israeli missile strike took out a U.N. sponsored school in Palestinian territory, injuring and killing children in the process, Israel defended its actions. Claiming that Palestinian fighters were using the school, and those inside as human shields, the Israelis placed the blame for the strike solely on the head of Hamas. Don Dahler reports.

Most GM recalled cars are still on the road

More than 75% of the nearly 2.6 million vehicles recalled by General Motors remain on the road.  The vehicles have a faulty ignition switch that GM says led to the deaths of 13 people. Jeff Pegues reports.

UCLA dries out after being flooded from water main break

A water main ruptured, turning UCLA into a giant sink Tuesday. A pipe installed in 1921 broke, flooding 900 cars and destroying the floor of the newly-renovated basketball arena.  Carter Evans reports.

Israel fires at another U.N. school

Israelis pounded a market and U.N. school with shell fire during what was supposed to be a four-hour cease-fire.The Israelis said they were shooting because they were taking fire from the area. Earlier this week the U.N. said it had found rockets stored at a different school. Barry Petersen reports.

Evidence of IRS hostility toward the GOP

Emails between former IRS official Lois Lerner and her friend have surfaced. Republican Dave Camp, chairman of the House Committee on Ways & Means, has been a leader in the IRS investigation. He has requested the Attorney General immediately begin “aggressively investigating this matter or appoint a special counsel.” Chip Reid reports

House votes to sue President Obama

In a vote along party lines, the Republican-led House voted to initiate a lawsuit against President Obama for allegedly overstepping his authority. The GOP reps. oppose the president's executive action to postpone Obamacare's mandate, which requires large employers to cover insurance for their workers or pay a fine. Nancy Cordes reports

Two Peace Corp volunteers in Liberia have been exposed to Ebola, now blamed for 72 deaths there and in Guinea and Sierra Leone. Hundreds of volunteers have been pulled out of Africa. Dr. Jon LaPook reports

Watch: Helicopter rescue of two teenagers from cliff

A California Highway Patrol helicopter plucked two teenagers clinging to the side of a beachside cliff in Marin County in a dramatic rescue captured on video. CHP Officer Daniel Hill says the 17- and 18-year-old boys were stuck about 75 feet up and had no way of getting down. Neither of the boys was hurt in the incident
