At danceScape, we believe that learning to dance should be joyful, empowering, and elegant—and for over 25 years, we’ve built our reputation on exactly that.
Founded by Robert Tang & Beverley Cayton-Tang, former 3-time Canadian and 2-time North American Ballroom Champions, danceScape was born from a passion for excellence in International Style Ballroom & Latin—the very same technique that produced dance icons like Derek & Julianne Hough, and many of the iconic professionals you see on Dancing with the Stars and Strictly Come Dancing.
We’re proud to be Canadian dancers who represented our country on 5 World Championship stages. But even more than that, we’re proud to have taught thousands of local dancers how to move with confidence, whether for weddings, socials, fitness, or just the love of music.
International Style: The “Canadian” Way to Dance
In some studios, students are introduced to American Style Ballroom, a format adapted for North American settings. While that method has value, we focus on the beauty, discipline, and flow of International Style Ballroom & Latin—recognized globally as the foundation for elite dancers and elegant social movement.
Why International Style? Because it fosters body awareness, musicality, and lead-follow connection—core elements that create not just good social dancers, but great ones.
And while some studios and instructors may rely on visiting coaches for specialized dances like International Style Viennese Waltz, Quickstep, or Tango, our in-house expertise ensures that students get authentic instruction, from champions who’ve danced these styles at the world level.
