Awase bed by Omi Tahara Studio for Bolzan
Dezeen Showroom: wood, rattan and Japanese minimalism meet in the Awase bed, created by designer Omi Tahara and Italian brand Bolzan.
Awase is a Japanese-style, low platform bed, which is given an elevated look through clean lines, subtly curved edges and refined joinery.
The headboard, rendered in tightly woven rattan or upholstered in fabric, brings warmth and textural richness into the room, while concealed storage in the bed base adds a practical edge.
"Awase is born from the harmonious encounter between Japanese tradition and contemporary spirit," said Bolzan. "Rattan brings authenticity to urban living, conjuring carefree memories."
The Awase bed frame is made from solid ash wood and fits mattresses sized 180 by 200 centimetres.
The bed is available in a range of colours.
