Potter and Bertha Palmer were clients of Parisian dealer Paul Durand-Ruel, and their collection of Impressionist paintings was quickly unrivaled, as they acquired 29 Monets and 11 Renoirs, which are now part of the Art Institute of Chicago's enviable Impressionist collection.
