The decision to hire Ron Rivera suggests that Dan Snyder himself might be different. It is understandable for Redskins fans to have low expectations of Snyder after a disappointing couple of decades, but perhaps hiring Rivera is an attempt to learn from the firing of Marty Schottenheimer in 2001.
