I asked the question, would youtrade him for Lauri Markkanen last season? The answer was “No. We believe he’ll be better than Markkanen.” So that should tell you everything that you need to know about what they feel about him as a player.

Aside from LaVine and Murray, not many star players have been rumored to become available ahead of the trade deadline. There is Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby with the Toronto Raptors, but teams around the league have been unable to negotiate with the Raptors due to their “insanely high” asking prices, as one league source told ClutchPoints. I was also told this by someone within the walls that they view both of the Murray twins as late bloomers, and they have young bodies. For NBA teams, what that means is that if you get him in the right situation with the right training staff, that you can kind of choose your own adventure. If you want to bulk him up and make him a four, that’s fine. If you want to lean him down and make him a three, then you can probably do that as well. -via HoopsHype / January 10, 2024

According to league sources, the Kings are not going to trade talented second-year forward Keegan Murray and the Kings – already on the hook for full max deals for Domantas Sabonis and De’Aaron Fox – aren’t interested in paying Siakam a full max contract which means any chances of retaining the pending free agent are nil. -via SportsNet / January 7, 2024
