The Pelicans have expressed trade interest in Wendell Carter Jr., per @MikeAScotto (hoopshype.com/lists/nba-rumo…).
If the Magic pursue Isaiah Hartenstein in free agency, many rival executives expect Carter to become available. pic.twitter.com/vdvyxP8Qv0 – 3:07 PM

As free agency begins, can Knicks hang on to Hartenstein?

My guess is that Paul George kind of grinds a lot of league business to a halt these next few days.
Like, Hartenstein and KCP sort of need PG’s situation to settle because they’ve been linked to Orlando and Philly. And other guys need THEM to settle, and so on, and so on. – 4:52 PM

If I’m the Lakers, I’m watching Orlando very closely tomorrow.
If they sign Hartenstein tomorrow, they suddenly have a center surplus while still needing a guard. They’ve been linked to DLo. I wonder if there’s a Wendell Carter trade available if the Lakers include picks. – 1:59 PM

Fake trade time: This is based on Sac’s reported interest in Brandon Ingram+Orlando’s reported interest in Isaiah Hartenstein.
Magic get a young shooter and an old shooter+clear a starting spot for IH. Pels get their PG and their shooting big. Kings get Ingram. Hawks get picks. pic.twitter.com/XT57YOT9Wa – 12:07 PM

Some around the league believe Hartenstein could earn roughly $23 million per year on a multi-year deal from a rival franchise that could potentially sway him to leave New York, which can offer up to four years, $72 million. -via HoopsHype / June 30, 2024
Tommy Beer: ESPN’s Bobby Marks says he expects NY to add a player to the Mikal Bridges deal (either a player currently under contract or via sign-and-trade). Also says NY will go up the second apron (providing an additional $11 million to round out the roster) Lastly, Marks mentions Orlando as a suitor for Isaiah Hartenstein -via Twitter @TommyBeer / June 30, 2024
The Knicks have grown more pessimistic this week about retaining Isaiah Hartenstein, league sources said. The Nets and Nic Claxton, the other premier center on the open market this summer, just agreed to a four-year, $100 million contract Wednesday. Not only is Hartenstein the league’s top free-agent center now, but he also has a nine-figure contract he can point to as a comp. -via New York Times / June 27, 2024
