ADEN, Yemen (Reuters) - Yemeni Prime Minister Khaled Bahah arrived in Aden on Wednesday, his spokesman said, advancing efforts to re-establish an administration on home soil after months working from exile with Gulf Arab allies to battle Houthi control of the country. Government spokesman Rajeh Badi said Bahah, who is also vice president, was accompanied by seven ministers when he arrived in Aden, where local fighters backed by Saudi-led forces drove the Houthi movement out in July.

Russia's U.N. Ambassador Vitaly Churkin believes that Russia and the United States have one thing in common now as neither of the countries wants Syrian President Bashar Assad to step down. The U.N. ambassador said that the U.S. government did not want the Assad regime to fall, adding that the matter was “very complex.” The U.S. government does not want to harm the Syrian government while fighting against the Islamic State group, Churkin added.

Four people, including a 4-year-old child, were killed in police firing late Tuesday during protests over parliamentary voting on a new constitution in Nepal, according to reports.  Protesters, who are against a recently-proposed constitution that would, among other things, divide the country into provinces, have clashed with police for several weeks. Protesters are also demanding that Nepal be declared a Hindu state in the new constitution.

The Union of Auto Workers (UAW) and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles reached a tentative agreement Tuesday over an ongoing labor dispute over pay and healthcare issues, but neither side provided specifics about the deal.

A Russian diplomat has said that Russia will continue its military supply for Syrian President Bashar Assad. Sergey Naryshkin, the speaker of Russia’s lower house of parliament, acknowledged to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe in Mongolia that Russia had been supplying weapons to the Syrian government. He added that Russian authorities had never kept its support for the Assad regime a secret.
