TIMELINE: Prairie Grove couple killed at Devil's Den State Park
WEST FORK, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A couple who recently moved to Prairie Grove from out of state was killed at Devil's Den State Park on July 26.
Arkansas State Police identified the victims as Clinton David Brink, 43, and Cristen Amanda Brink, 41. Their daughters, ages 7 and 9, were unharmed and are safe with family, authorities said.
Here is a timeline of the events as they happened, according to authorities:
- July 16 - Prairie Grove Mayor David Falk said the Brink family had their water service turned on after recently moving to Prairie Grove.
- July 26 - The couple was found dead on a walking trail within the park.
- July 27 - Police release the identities of the couple. Authorities ask park visitors to review any cellphone, GoPro or camera footage from Saturday for possible images of the suspect. Residents near the park are also asked to check their security or game camera footage.
- July 28 - The FBI joins the investigation. Arkansas State Police releases a sketch of a person of interest in the case.
- July 29 - ASP releases a photo of the person of interest in the case to accompany the previously released composite sketch. Officials told KNWA/FOX24 that the photo came from a witness.
- July 30 - ASP announced the arrest of Andrew McGann, connected to the murders of Clinton and Cristen Brink at a presser. He was booked into the Washington County Detention Center. Springdale Schools confirmed McGann had been hired as a teacher candidate for the upcoming school year.
- July 31 - ASP announced that DNA found at the crime scene matched McGann and said that the attack on the couple was random. ASP also said McGann confessed to killing the couple.
- August 1 - McGann makes his first appearance in court at the Washington County Courthouse. He was appointed a public defender and ordered to be held without bond.
