Viral post helps find good Samaritan who helped mother in airport
Wright said he helped her get to her plane on time and made sure she got settled in before taking off.
LAFAYETTE, La (KLFY)-- A post on social media in search of a good Samaritan has gone viral. Jamie Tutko took to "X", formally known as Twitter, in hopes of finding the man who helped his mother.
Tutko said he made a post asking for help in finding the man who helped his mother catch her flight at the Atlanta Airport.
"As anybody knows, that has actually been to the Atlanta Airport, it's not the easiest to get around in," Tutko said. "It's a big airport."
Tutko said his mom has issues walking long distances with her knee and is scheduled to have a knee replacement. He said when he heard how someone helped her walk across the airport, he immediately took to social media to find the good Samaritan.
"Just to know that there was somebody there that that was able to help my mom with no questions asked, this was really, really cool, and that was what sparked my entire my post," Tutko said.
In true social media form, followers began searching. In less than two days, the good Samaritan was found and identified as Michael Wright from Lafayette. Wright said he missed his original flight and while walking through the airport, spotted Tutko's mother.
"The train was disabled at Atlanta's Airport, and I was walking through the airport, and I saw this nice lady that not old enough to be my mom but reminded me of somebody's mother," Wright said.
Wright said he helped her get to her plane on time and made sure she got settled in before taking off.
"It took us about 55 minutes to get from C terminal to F terminal," Wright said. "I got her settled, I went tell the guy at the counter to please take care of my mom. She said, my son gave me a kiss on the cheek and a big hug. I thought it was the end of it."
That in fact was not the end. Because of his act of kindness, Tutko who works with LSU's baseball team is offering Wright tickets to see the Tigers play.
"You know, really looking forward to getting to meet him in person and, you know, getting him some tickets here to a baseball game here in at LSU," Tutko said.
