Texas man charged with sex crimes with 13-year-old Evangeline Parish girl
Christopher Guevara, 23, was arrested after being tracked down in Texas by U.S. Marshals, according to the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office.
VILLE PLATTE, La. (KLFY) -- A Texas man has been arrested in connection with alleged inappropriate conduct with a young girl in Evangeline Parish, officials said.
Christopher Guevara, 23, is charged with indecent behavior with juveniles and computer-aided solicitation of a minor. Guevara was arrested after being tracked down in Texas by U.S. Marshals, according to the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office.
The Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office were asked on June 12 to determine if a criminal act had been committed concerning an adult male possibly having inappropriate interaction with a 13-year-old juvenile female.
Detectives said the suspect was having inappropriate conversations with the 13-year-old girl, allegedly convincing the girl go to private locations in her home and take inappropriate photographs of herself. He also allegedly made inappropriate sexual comments to the girl as to specific sex acts he wanted to perform on her and with her, authorities said.
The child's mother became aware of this and brought the child and the text interaction to the EPSO as well as information on the suspect's phone number and his current residence that she looked up herself. Detectives were able to obtain an arrest warrant for Guevara.
Officials said he was tracked from Pflugerville, Texas, to Pearland, Texas and subsequently to New Braunfels, Texas where he was placed under arrest by the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Fugitive Task Force on Dec. 11.
Guevara will be arraigned in the 13th Judicial District Court in the near future, authorities said.
