UPDATE, 2/28/24, 10 a.m.: State Police report the debris from the crash has been cleared, and both westbound lanes of I-10 are now open.
ORIGINAL STORY: IOWA, La. (KLFY) -- Traffic on westbound I-10 near Iowa, La. is being detoured off the interstate after a crash closed both lanes, authorities said.
Louisiana State Troopers are on the scene of a single-vehicle crash involving an overturned 18-wheeler on I-10 west near the US-165 overpass at mile marker 45. The crash occurred in a construction zone and both westbound lanes of travel are blocked at this time, LSP said.
Traffic is being diverted from I-10 west to La. 101 (exit 48) in Lacassine. The suggested route is to proceed south to US-90 west to La. 383 north to I-10 west.
Crews are on the scene to get the wreckage removed and the debris cleaned up. There is no estimated time of when the roadway will be reopened, authorities said.
