Body found in Vermilion Parish canal Friday unidentified
A body found floating in a canal near Kaplan Friday morning has yet to be idenitified, authorities said.
KAPLAN, La. (KLFY) -- A body found floating in a canal near Kaplan Friday morning has yet to be idenitified, authorities said.
According to Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon, a body was located floating in a canal off of West Liberty Farm Road south of Kaplan by a local farmer at approximately 10 a.m. Friday.
The body was recovered and sent to Parish Forensics for autopsy and manner of death. Detectives are in the process of trying to identify the individual, officials said.
