Erin on the verge of forming in the eastern Atlantic
Storm Team 10 and the National Hurricane Center are tracking a robust tropical wave in the eastern Atlantic Ocean that has a high likelihood for tropical development.
This wave has been designated as Invest 97L as the NHC has a 90% chance this becomes a tropical system within 48 hours. The next name on the list is Erin.
Invest 97L is currently moving west-northwest and should continue that track for the next several days. Tropical models are in good agreement that this system will move north of the Caribbean Sea and could make a hard northerly turn before the Bahamas this weekend.
The forecast track is highly uncertain at this time but the threat for this to reach the Gulf looks very low.
