Two teens arrested after undercover operation in St. Landry Parish
GRAND COTEAU, La. (KLFY) -- Two teenagers were charged with drug offenses after a Tuesday traffic stop in Grand Coteau, authorities said.
Ronnie Auguillard, 18, of Breaux Bridge, and Kanaan Broussard, 17, of Lafayette, are each charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a firearm in the presence of drugs. Auguillard was also charged with transactions involving drug proceeds.
Narcotics detectives with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office conducted an undercover operation and negotiated the purchase of two pounds of marijuana, according to St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz.
"Once the target was identified, he was convinced to move to another location," Guidroz said. "Detectives in marked and unmarked units were able to initiate a stop on Duffy Avenue in Grand Coteau."
A search of the vehicle yielded approximately two pounds of marijuana, two Glock pistols and $1,630 in cash, officials said.
The two were arrested without incident, Guidroz said. Bond details were not released.
