Cajun men's basketball team hosts fathers and sons' community event
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- Louisiana head basketball coach Quannas White and the Cajun basketball team hosted a community event on Sunday, bringing together fathers and sons for a day of games and bonding.
The event is part of the Cajun basketball team's ongoing effort to connect with the community beyond the basketball court.
"Thank God. Really, truly an absolute for these many people's dads to come out on a Sunday," White said. "This is what we're about. We want everyone to know who we are, not just on the floor, but off the floor."
White participated in the games with his sons, Asher and Asa, noting the joy it brought to his family.
"It just creates more memories. Right? That’s why we’re doing it," he said.
Participants from Lafayette, including Jacque and Patrick Gustin, as well as Major and Bailey Bobbitt, expressed their enjoyment of the event. "
"It’s very cool. We don’t get to do this kind of thing very much," Patrick said.
