Chilly mornings, warm afternoons this week
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) - High pressure will keep quiet and nice weather around for the majority of the week ahead. Tonight, temperatures drop off into the lower 40s under clear skies. Jackets will be needed for most of the morning hours Monday.
Monday itself will see beautiful weather with sunny skies. Temperatures warm quickly from the morning time, reaching the 60s by lunchtime and 70s in the afternoon hours. Monday evening will also be nice with clear skies and temperatures falling into the 50s.
Over the next week, the biggest change to the forecast will be the increase in temperatures and humidity. Through midweek, mornings will see clear and chilly conditions with temperatures in the 40s. Starting Thursday, humidity creeps back into the region on southerly winds. This increases for Friday where a stray shower will even be possible over the eastern portions of the area. Mornings will be in the 60s and afternoons in the 80s by the weekend.
