Driver killed in single-car crash in Evangeline Parish
EVANGELINE PARISH, La, (KLFY) -- A driver has died after crashing their vehicle in Evangeline Parish.
On Nov. 2, after 5 p.m., Louisiana State Police began investigating a single-vehicle fatality crash on La. 106 near Lutz Loop. The crash claimed the life of Michael Fontenot, 42, of Bunkie.
According to authorities, Fontenot was traveling east on La. 106 when for reasons still under investigation, Fontenot's vehicle failed to negotiate a curve and traveled off the roadway before overturning.
Officials said Fontenot died at the scene from his injuries.
A standard toxicology sample was collected from Fontenot and submitted for analysis. The crash remains under investigation
