Robert Joshua Ellis, 36, of Alexandria was arrested and charged with Aggravated Battery of a Police Officer, Criminal Trespass, Criminal Damage to Property, Disturbing the Peace, Attempted First Degree Murder of a Police Officer, Hate Crimes, and Manufacture or Possession of an Incendiary Device after allegedly attacking a deputy with a floor scraper and a Molotov Cocktail.
